Sources & References
Sources help readers distinguish original devotional writing from Scripture, Church teaching, and established Catholic practice.
How we use references
We choose references for their relevance and reliability. A source should clarify the prayer intention, support a factual statement, or help explain a Catholic belief or practice.
We favor primary Church and Scripture resources where possible, and use established Catholic sources when their subject knowledge is useful.
Individual articles identify their supporting sources where appropriate. This page introduces major reference resources; it does not mean that every resource listed here was used in every article.
When checking a claim, follow the specific citation in the article and read the source in context.

We use Scripture references and concise, attributed quotations where they serve the reflection.
We do not assume that every Bible translation has the same wording or permissions. Quoted material retains its original wording and spelling, and the respective rights of its owner.
How original prayers are identified
Original prayers express the particular intention of a Pray With Faith article. They must not be mistaken for quotations from Scripture, official liturgical texts, or traditional prayers.
Traditional labels require verification.
Independence and corrections
